Here take the listener on a musical journey to the sound of Indian flutes from the countries of the former Inca Empire, from Colombia to Bolivia, via Ecuador and Peru: panpipes (siku, antara and rondador), end-blown flutes (quena, yapurutu and tarka) and transverse flutes (chrimia and bamboo flute). In all these pieces, ranging from simple, plaintive melodies to the wildest rhythms of carnival and bambucco music, the Indian, Spanish and black African roots are quite clear.
