The group POZA plays street songs from Odessa, a free port on the Black Sea, which for many years provided a safe haven for thousands of people from Eastern Europe and Asia Minor. Alik Kopyt was born in that city. A crystal-clear emerald sea, sea air, the tang of seaweed, the colorful language of the fishmongers were all part of his childhood. As was the music of the singer and accordionist Alik Berison, a legendary figure who died in 1975. Accompanied by Raymond Van Houten ("sometimes his clarinet sings like an angel, sometimes it roars like a lion"), he pays tribute to klezmer, rembetiko, gypsy songs, songs from Russia and Albania. Popular music that nourishes both heart and soul!
