The Northeast of Brazil is an area of great cultural wealth and diversity. Camarão's music - forró, baião, xote, arrastapé - is to be heard on many occasions on television, radio and in dance halls and theatres across the land. His style is direct and appealing, yet he has an extraordinary technical ability and a master of the expressive features of interpretation that make his music swing. Although he has released over twenty discs in his own country this is his first outing on an international label.
