This magnificent recording, first "released on Lyrichord in 1973, is now once again available on the Lyrichord Archive Series. Featuring two legendary stars of the Chinese Opera, Lisa Lu and K.S. Chen, as well as the The Reunion Ensemble, this recording fully illustrates why the Peking Opera has been the most popular form of theatrical performance to grace the Chinese stage since its beginnings during the culturally innovative Ching Dynasty (1644-1911).
