Ethiopiques 24: Golden Years of Modern Ethiopian Music 1969-1975 CD

A selection of powerful pieces from the historical Amha Records catalog includes two pieces by a young Mulatu Astatqe, well known for his work on the Broken Flowers soundtrack. Also highlights two pieces by The Ashantis, a highly influential Kenyan band from the early '70s. Features artists previously showcased by the series (Ayalew Mesfin, Getatchew Kassa, Seyfou Yohannes) as well as new artists relatively unknown in the West (Menelik Wesnatchew, Seyoum Gebreyes, Tamrat Molla, Wubshèt Fisseha).
