Music of the Aeolian Harp: Voices of the Wind CD
Price Qty
US18.99

Detailed Description
The Aeolian harp is of great antiquity and is activated solely by the wind blowing across the strings. So by careful tuning of the strings and placing of the instruments the modern day counterparts can create beautiful and ethereal effects. The wind harp saw a revival in Victorian times but its popularity then faded. Roger Winfield has successfully resurrected the instrument from oblivion and this album is both the sequel and a contrast to his very successful first album for Saydisc ('Windsongs') SDL 394). Since then he has toured prolifically throughout the UK setting up the harps at a wide variety of venues, their magical sound never failing to astonish audiences across a broad band of tastes and ages. During that time he has created a new ensemble of instruments heard to good effect on this single continuous track which is ideal for healing or meditation. As one music critic put it, If you can have your brain massaged by music, the Aeolian Harps are the instruments to do it!
