In Japan, no festival is complete without the deep sound of the taiko (or daiko) drums. Pioneering musician Seido Kobayashi was the first to form an all-taiko ensemble, Oedo Sukeroku Taiko. The spectator is taken into an exciting and fascinating world that can be dynamic or poetic, violent or subtle, martial or playful. Onstage, Oedo Sukeroku Taiko recreates the atmosphere of such celebrations, with the excitement of the processions bearing the mikoshi (portable shrine) through the streets of the city, and with meditative pieces in tribute to the awakening of nature, with the blossoming of the plum trees at the end of winter. Tracks: 1. Mikoshi Daiko 2. Yodan Uchi 3. Shunrai-Shiraume-Matsuri 4. Kizuna 5. Midare Uchi 6. Sukeroku Bayashi 7. Dashi
