A native of Bushehr, Saeid Shanbehzadeh a rare artist who still champions, with passion and conviction, a somewhat marginal tradition in modern-day Iran: resistance against the tragedy of slavery. Besides the ney-dofti (double flute), he dexterously plays the ney-e-anban (bagpipes). Shanbehzadeh sees himself, first and foremost, as a bearer of knowledge. For him, the will to pass on a heritage predominates the idea of musical fusion.
