ORTHODOX BYZANTINE CHANTS, from the "Air Mail" music series, surrounds listeners with the profound beauty of voices joined in musical prayer to God. Romania's Preludiu Chamber Choir provides the vocals on the album and they are stunning - quiet, clear and full of reverence, the recording fills you with divine love. The selections are vocal with no backing instrumentation, allowing the pure enchantment of the singing to be a focal point. The songs include both male and female voices, the male having a traditional Gregorian monk sound, the female reminiscent of a choir of nuns. Each of the pieces has a Renaissance era sound, which lends the music a timeless, regal grace.

The voices of Preludiu prove that perfection exists! This is the first recording of Byzantine chant by the famous Preludiu Chamber Choir of Romania. Formed in 1972 by its conductor Voicu Enachescu, Preludiu has given more than a thousand concerts all over the world.
