Pamir Badakhshan Chants et musiques du toit du monde CD

The Pamir, with its high valleys of difficult access, is a conservatory of ancient musical forms. The moving and high- pitched voices of the female singers are accompanied with lutes, percussion, and a small fiddle with a metallic soundbox. The religious songs of the male choirs are sustained with the deep roaring of the big daf drums.
