Produced by top reggae producer Denis Bovell, Out the Gap is a bewitching and beautiful cultural cocktail. From the first note, Sharon's astonishing skill and musicality pours forth with lift, melody and spunk. She's assembled a band that can follow her energetic direction and the tunes move easily from Irish traditional to rock to reggae with
"luciously dovetailing rythms and melodies and constant cheeky surprises, like a skanking banjo, a reggae waltz or the mellifluous pairings of brass and accordion tones."
(Scotland on Sunday)
Sharon Shannon's career is zooming. Since her first professional appearance in 1989, Sharon has been swept into international prominence, performing and/or recording with the likes of Van Morrison, Christy Moore & Steve Cooney, Nanci Griffith, The Waterboys, and Arcady. Shannon has played for Lech Walesa at the Royal Palace in Warsaw, President Clinton at the White House, and an estimated audience of 25 million on Good Morning America. As the press says, "she has magic in her fingers," (Daily Telegraph) and all who hear her want to hear more.

Out the Gap features a fantasy league of backing musicians: U2 bassist/guitarist Adam Clayton, jazz saxophonist Richie Buckley (Van Morrison, Wet Wet Wet), Johnny T - the fiddle player with Stereo MC's, and ex-Waterboys Noel Bridgmand and Trevor Hutchinson. The band also includes Paul Blake on drums, Henry Holder on keyboards and Fari Forest on percussion.
