Behnam Samani is regarded as one of the great exponents of the tombak (or zarb). In this concert, recorded in Germany in 1999, he is accompanied by his brother Reza on the dajere, and by the great Indian tabla player Kousic Sen. In this concert each instrument has its own individual sound, which remains clear throughout the improvisations. These sounds are linked to the many facets of Indian and Iranian music - traditional, art and folk music, mystical music and the music of the archaic martial arts. These sources, combined with the process of musical performance, provide new suspenseful and stimulating listening experiences. The exceptional sound quality on this recording brings out their extraordinary virtuosity. This record is a must!

1. Tabla & Dejere
2. Tabla Solo
3. Tombak, Dajere & Tabla
4. Tombak Duo
