The Tree of Modes 2 CDs

The “tree of modes” is the symbol representing the organization of the Moroccan Arab-Andalus melodic system. Its four branches illustrate the four fundamental sets of sound modes as well as the four humors of the human microcosm. Ahmed Shiki, a talented lute player, grew up within the secret bosom of this Andalus metropolis. His great erudition has enabled him to perform the 11 noubas here.
