This recording captures the excitement of a live performance by Asep Sunandar Sunarya Giri Harja III, the most popular and innovative puppeteer and troupe of the 1990s. Recorded in 1994, during the last years of the Soeharto regime, the performance serves as a prelude to a vital and tumultuous period in Indonesian history. This recording marks the first time that such a comprehensive educational package has been produced for this significant genre of world theater.
